My Experiences With Moving to Spain

When I think about Spain, I think about the food, the beaches and the typically Spanish activities, such as taking a siesta when the day is at its hottest. While living here I’ve come to realize that the siesta is essential to life, especially during the summer.

Moving to another country takes you out of your comfort zone. You travel to a place you’ve never been before. Being uncomfortable the first few days or weeks is normal. Your body and mind are adjusting to the new shapes and colors around you.

I’ve always liked Spain. I don’t know why, but it’s close to my heart. This article is about my experiences with moving and living in Spain.

Selective Ignorance: How to Be Okay With Following Your Passion

The amount of useless information that can be found both online and offline is astounding. I am not speaking in absolute terms, because what is useful depends entirely on what you.

Lately when I’ve been browsing the web and hanging out on Twitter, I’ve started seeing more and more trashing of stuff that works.

The talk not so long ago was that blogging was dead. People embraced Twitter and other platforms, but in the end, you’re best of ignoring this kind of information and going with your heart.

Sure, listening and learning is good, but the problem is that there’s so much noise that it leaves you confused and paralyzed. If that happens, then it does you no good.

I used to read everything that came my way. I needed someone else’s opinion to form my own. As I’ve grown, I have become more independent and I have found myself consuming less and less.

The meanings will probably not be the same for you as they are for me, so use whatever I say however you like. I can only share my own experience. After that it is up to you.

Enjoy!

Courage

1. “Courage is the discovery that you may not win, and trying when you know you can lose.” – Tom Krause

There are no guarantees in life. Even the false security of having a house, a family and money in the bank will pass.

Yin & Yang: Why You Will Never Achieve Total Happiness

Yin and Yang

Take a step back, breathe and put things into perspective. Why are we chasing something that is unattainable?

Sometimes you have to stop and say “hey, wait a minute. Is this really what I want? Am I heading in the right direction?”

The eternal pursuit of happiness is nothing more than an illusion. I’m not talking from a philosophical viewpoint, but from a practical one.

If we’re going to go after something, why not make it something that is attainable and that makes a difference in our lives?

For a long time I thought I needed to get happiness from outside of myself. Sure, I had times where I felt better than others, but they always passed.

Productivity Secrets: How to Get Stuff Done Without Killing Yourself

Have you been trying to push yourself to be more productive?

Are you still not getting as much done as you’d like to?

Are you still feeling stressed out?

There are a lot of shoulds in our life when it comes to productivity. For example, I’ve always been an overachiever and somewhat of a work-a-holic.

Looking back at my life, I see that I often start out doing what I love, but I end up hating it, because I force myself to work more than I want to, and more than I need to.

There’s a divine flow to life. Going too fast is no better than going too slow. It has taken me a while to realize that it is okay to not get everything done at once.

It’s okay if you’re not where you want to be right now. At the same time comes the realization that the process and the journey is what life is all about.
