We spend a lot of time waiting, commuting and in general, doing nothing.
But you don’t have to just “waste” all that time. You can use it to learn how to build a lifestyle business, write down ideas and plan your glorious escape from the 9-to-5.
It all comes down to finding the right podcasts with the right information.
And today I have a list of five business podcasts that fit the bill.
They don’t cost a penny, so it’s like a free lifestyle business education when you listen and implement what you learn.
Here we go.
1. Smart Passive Income Podcast
Pat Flynn is the guy behind the Smart Passive Income Podcast.
I’ve seen Pat grow his blog from almost zero to tens of thousands millions of readers.
He knows what he’s doing, and he shares everything on his blog and on his podcast. I always get new ideas when I listen to Pat or read his work.
2. Entrepreneurs on Fire
Entrepreneurs on Fire is hosted by John Lee Dumas, who interviews entrepreneurs.
The topics range from investing and negotiating to writing press releases and lowering stress.
There are 3000+ episodes, so you’re bound to find something interesting, especially if you’re interested in becoming a successful entrepreneur.
3. Dare to Lead
The Dare to Lead podcast with Brené Brown is filled with interesting and revelatory information.
If the name Brené Brown sounds familiar, it’s probably because of her popular TED talk from 2010 on the power of vulnerability.
Her podcast is equally good, and I always enjoy hearing her get to the core of many issues, and just being honest about what it means to be human.
4. Tim Ferriss Podcast
This podcast isn’t about internet business per se, but the topics covered are relevant nonetheless.
You may be familiar with Tim Ferriss from his popular book 4-Hour Workweek.
Tim covers everything from creativity and cooking to investing and clear thinking.
A few episodes you might like:
- Mr. Money Mustache — Living Beautifully on $25–27K Per Year
- Nick Kokonas — How to Apply World-Class Creativity to Business, Art, and Life
- Howard Marks — How to Invest with Clear Thinking
5. Unmistakable Creative
Srini is the guy behind the Unmistakable Creative podcast. Srini used to host the BlogCast FM podcast many years back, so it’s been great seeing him evolve and grow.
The Unmistakable Creative website contains all of the podcast episodes, so you can access them, and see if you find something you like.
Or, you can always subscribe to the podcast on your phone, and scroll through the episodes that way.
All in all, a great podcast with a great host.
A Note on Overwhelm
Whatever you do, don’t get addicted to collecting information.
Choose one podcast, listen to one episode that is relevant to you right now, and implement the information.
Sit down and brainstorm how you can use what you’ve learned.
It does you no good to listen to episode after episode without doing anything.
