As the years have passed, I’ve learned a lot about building online income streams. I’ve learned how to effectively deal with information overload, overwhelm, uncertainty, and fear.
I’ve also learned how to simplify a process so that taking action is inevitable. In this article, I’ll go through the story of how Hybrid Blogging was born, or how I discovered a way to create a profitable website around my passion that is both simple and fun.
Many get stuck in article marketing or building niche websites around topics they don’t enjoy just to make money.
In the end, that doesn’t work, or I haven’t found it to work for me, my clients, or my friends.
So I started wondering: “Why not combine all of these into one process and eliminate a lot of the overwhelm and complexity?”
Doing this not only made creating profitable websites more fun for me, but it also increases your chances of success dramatically.
I want to stress that this is not a magic bullet process. Nothing is and never will be, because in the end, you are the one who has to take action and apply what you learn.
The Creation of Hybrid Blogging
Hybrid Blogging has been evolving ever since I started my online journey. Although it wasn’t something I could put words on until last year.
I like to simplify and make things easier instead of making them more complex. First and foremost, I do this because it makes things easier for me.
The second benefit is that it makes everything so much easier for the people that I teach to use this process and build their own online empire.
I have always been very curious about how to combine and simplify the different aspects in any area that I have been involved in.
And that is what I have done with building an online business. I simply became very curious, and I can’t stand standing still, so I automatically improve what I do, because it is who I am.
With that said, let’s take a quick look at how exactly the Hybrid Blogging process was born.
My First Website – 2007
In reality, I started my first website when I was 14 or 15 years old, but that was 10 years ago. While I made a few hundred then it wasn’t until 2007 that I really started to get serious about building an online business.
It took me almost two years to realize that I wasn’t doing it very well. I call these years my learning years.
We all have them. For some they are longer and for some they are shorter. It’s just a part of the game, but if you keep going and take action, you will succeed.
I wouldn’t trade these years for anything, because they taught me crucial lessons that would come in handy down the road.
My first failure was one of the most positive things that could’ve happened to me, because it taught me what mindset I needed to succeed.
And while you may feel like failing is bad, it isn’t. The reason is that the more you “fail” the more you learn, and the more you learn, the more you will succeed.
We always have to remember that even the most negative moments in our life to teach us something positive, even though it may not seem like that at the moment.
My First Successful Website – 2009
It wasn’t until 2009 that I decided to get smart. I opened myself up to feedback, bought a training course, and got a mentor.
I was determined to succeed, because I wasn’t going back to playing poker for a living, because that wasn’t what I truly wanted to do with my life.
My soul wanted something else, it wanted something exciting and something I was passionate about, so I went after success with a vengeance.
There was no going back.
It was with this first successful website that I learned search engine optimization. It to this day receives almost 2,000 unique visitors every single day, and it earns over $1,000 each and every month in passive income.
All I did was become really curious about what it was that made some people succeed online when others didn’t. I then followed the path of the successful and got the results that I wanted.
Article Marketing – 2009
After I had succeeded in building my first successful website, I started looking around and wondering what else was out there that I could use to build online income streams.
That’s when I discovered article marketing. I already knew what I had to do to succeed. I had to take massive action and apply what I learned.
I again bought a training course that was created by someone who knew what they were doing. I followed the instructions and I took action, and built up another income stream that to this day earns me 4-figures every month.
It was after this second success with article marketing that I came to realize that nothing is impossible. You can succeed at anything if you’re determined enough and put one foot in front of the other.
Also notice that I didn’t start succeeding until I began focusing on one thing at a time. If you have many projects going on, focus on one, because trying to do them all will only paralyze you.
It was also at that time that I started feeling the urge to do something greater, to do something that contributed to humanity in a much bigger way, and that is when I started blogging.
Blogging – 2009-Present
When I had a variety of online income streams, I started the Wake Up Cloud.
I hesitated for a long time to go after what I was passionate about, but I eventually got angry at myself and just took action.
I once again bought a training course on how to create a successful blog, and I followed the instructions until I started seeing massive results.
Are you noticing the pattern here?
To this day, this blog is something my soul burns for. I love this stuff. I love doing it, figuring it out, and teaching it to others.
I thoroughly enjoy seeing others succeed. As I kept blogging, creating my own products, utilizing guest blogging and building my email list, I had an epiphany.
I realized that there was no need to separate all the different areas of online business. I could combine them all into one process. And that is how Hybrid Blogging was born.
You see, I’ve used many different strategies and techniques to build online income streams throughout the years, but I discovered that not only is Hybrid Blogging much more fun, it is much faster as well.
It’s also not about just making money doing what you love. For me, it’s about contributing to the world while you’re making money following your passion.
That’s why I love the Hybrid Blogging process so much, because it incorporates all the most important aspects from the technical to the spiritual.
The Results of Hybrid Blogging
And what would a story of Hybrid Blogging be without the practical aspect of it?
The results with Hybrid Blogging have been nothing short of phenomenal.
I have used Hybrid Blogging to help my girlfriend build a website that now receives close to 30,000 unique visitors each and every month, and makes between $500 and $1,000 each and every month with minimal maintenance.
We’ve been very lazy with the website. It would be easy to get well over $1,000/month, but we’re happy with it as it is.
I’ve also coached a few close friends that are motivated and take massive action. They are also in the process of creating successful Hybrid Blogs, and their income just keeps growing.
The beauty of this is that once you learn how to create a profitable website around a topic you enjoy, you can replicate the process and create as many websites as you want, until you reach your income goals.

Awesome stuff man … can’t wait for Friday.
The more I dig into this “internet marketing scene” the more I realize that you need to concentrate all your efforts into a single project and all of your attention to single “educational source”.
I couldn’t agree with you more on that, Dejan!
Great intro. post, Henri. I look forward to reading your post on Wednesday,
Good stuff!
Great job Henri.
I look forward to seeing your program.
Well done on getting 30 000 visitors per month, that in itself is a feat.
All you got to do is get that traffic converting nicely and you could easily increase your income.
Yup, that is the key
Interesting concept and that’s exactly what I’m aiming to do: “contributing to the world while you’re making money following your passion”. Best of luck and looking forward to exchanging more guest posts with you in the future.
Henri,
You’ve certainly learned the art of creating online writing appeal! A systemic approach to anything – from cars to blogs – is most efficient and beneficial. Looking forward to the days to come this week.
Best,
Bill
Thanks that was great!
Henri -
Add my name to the list of those looking forward to your posts on Wednesday and Friday.
I am curious about one thing. Early on in your post you point out that it’s necessary to focus on one thing. But then you say that Hybrid Blogging is a combination of all the things you were doing. That sounds like the opposite of focusing on one thing. I look forward to learning how you fit these pieces together into a workable package.

Hey Shlomo!
What I meant by focusing on one thing is focusing on one website (or Hybrid Blog). Although I still believe it makes things easier when you combine the best of all the things I mentioned, because people tend to get caught up in each one of those areas anyway, but they don’t know in which order to do them.
Does that make sense?
I thought maybe that is what you meant, but I wanted to hear it from you rather than just assume.
Good stuff
Hey Henri!
You’re certainly doing some great things and showing massive results from doing so.
Keep rocking and we’ll talk soon!
Btw, thanks for always writing AMAZING articles that NEVER go dry. THAT makes all the difference, at least, to me.
Thank you for reading and commenting, Eric. Always a pleasure to read your thoughts!
I tried hybrid blogging, but it ended up with me getting distracted too easily when I’d want to blog on random thoughts/ideas, and the site just ended up with no general direction. I’m doing only a few niche sites which, all of which I enjoy, so I focus very intently on them.
If that works for you then go for it. What matters are the results and how happy you are.
For me personally I’ve found that Hybrid Blogging not only keeps me on track, but it increases traffic, income and how much I enjoy the process, which leads to me working on my sites more.
Very Interesting regarding hybrid blogging. Regarding your article marketing, just out of curiosity did it have more to do with poker or was it about finding your passion?
It was a little bit of both. I realized there was something missing in poker one day and I felt drawn to do something bigger, and that’s where it all started.
Dear Henri,
Greetings! My name is Shweta and I live in Dubai, UAE.
I would like to thank you for doing what you are, for helping people like us, who are either just venturing out into the online world or need help furthering our skills. I belong to the former category. I have recently started my own website / blog where I intend to capture the going-ons in the world of Fashion, Art, My Pet, Newsmakers in the region and more; the USP of my blog being that it will be a v-blog or a video blog. I too want to make money out of my blog and as I consider myself to be virtually challenged, I ask for your help in guiding me in the right direction.
My website is still a W-I-P. The entire layout will change very soon.
I look forward to your initial thoughts and comments on it, its potential as someone who has been in the inline world for so long.
Thank you Henri.
Sincerely,
Shweta Dembla
Heya Shweta!
At first glance, your website looks great, so your definitely heading in the right direction. Keep on going and learning and you’ll be surprised at how far you will go.
Dear Henri,
Thank you very much for the kind words. Yes, I hope to learn a lot as I go along. At the end of the day, that is what it is all about as well, right?
Thank you. I look forward to your Discover Your Passion in 5 days course.
Sincerely,
Shweta
Hi Henry, So much of what you say is so true to me. Finding your passion and building on it while helping others at the same time will change one’s life in many ways.
You are so wise for your age.
To your continued success.
Ingrid
Thanks Ingrid!
