Henri, have been looking for a tested way of build traffic to my blog for a while now but stumbling on this post revealed the answer. I love your strategy of sending people from Ezine to your Discover Your Passion sign up page. That means so many things can happen through article marketing. Am now working on submitting 1000 articles to ezine by Dec 31st.

Yeah your blog can definitely bring more traffic. Article marketing is more of a slow and steady approach.

I’d be concentrating on article marketing as from March.

How did you create your opt in page? I guess You used the text widget right? and Aweber but can I used a regular static optin form script or it has to be a plugin?

I usually put the reject articles that I don;t think are quite up to standard to put on my blog on ezine articles. That being said, one really good article on the blog can bring 20-30x the traffic than 10 articles on ezinearticles.

Definitely give article marketing a shot, but don’t expect it to be a magic bullet. It does take a lot of work!

I would strongly advise against spinning articles. It is not something that I resonate with. You aren't providing more value, you're just trying to get more traffic so you can make more money with it. As for coaching programs, I am a member of Authority Blogger (aff link), which is run by Chris Garrett over at chrisg.com. I've learned a lot about blogging there and it's one of the reasons why I'm doing so well now.

Thanks for the advice. What do you think of spinning articles? I have read several blogs that recommend doing it, but I am hesitant. I know there is software that spins articles, but they seem to produce junk.

Also, do you know of any coaching programs that you would recommend for blogging? I’ve got a decent grasp of the basics of WordPress, but I just can’t seem to take the step of getting it going.

Good advice this is one thing I haven’t tested or tried yet. Probably cause I not the fastest writer and writing can be time consuming for me. But I like how you set some rules here about your articles and that you prove that this actually works for you.

Good tips Henri. Article marketing gets “easier” the more you do it, just like writing blog posts, when you get into the rhythm and flow, it might be worth it to write several on the same go. Or at least this is how I’m doing it now…

For my own blog and guest posts, I like to put my absolute best and 100% into, which often results in in-depth and long articles. It took a while to convince myself that 400-500, or even 250 word article can be just as good and valueble. Thus, for article marketing, which I’m just getting a hang off, I’m now concentrating on writing shorter (400-500 words) articles (but still keep the quality up of course).

Interesting point. So you are sending most of the people from Ezines directly to your Discover Your Passion sign up page?! That’s pretty smart.

I have to decide whether I want to do it that way. I’d love to build up a subscriber list I am just trying to find out what the best way is to go about doing that.

Of course! It’s not like you can submit 10 articles or even a 100 and expect and avalanche of traffic. You can usually multiply the amount of articles with 0.1 to get the daily expected traffic.

This all varies on the keywords you pick and so on, but in general I’ve noticed that 1,000 articles generates 100 unique visitors per day to you website. Go crazy for 3-4 months and you’ve got 1,000 articles.

Imagine what you could accomplish if you sent 100 people to a sign-up page that converts 25%. You’d have 25 new subscribers everyday. About 750 new subscribers every month. About 9125 subscribers every year.

If you have a list of almost 10,000, you can make a living, if you’re smart.

I’m sure HubPages, Squidoo and all the rest work fine. I don’t use them because I have something that works fine. I like finding something that works and keep doing that for a long time. If you find that HubPages works for you then, by all means, do that!
