Email Marketing 101: Build a Highly Responsive List

Have you heard internet guru’s say that the money is in the list?

I hate to agree with them, but they’re right.

The money is in the list, but the way “the guru’s” use their lists isn’t how you should do it.

There’s no need to bombard people with pitches day in and day out, because that’ll just burn out your subscribers.

So, how do you start a list without making the costly mistakes?

First, you realize that email marketing is simply the act of communicating with your people.

You treat your subscribers as you would like to be treated. That doesn’t mean you don’t sell. It just means you consider what kind of impact you’re having on people.

But that isn’t enough. You can’t just get people on a list and voilá; money flows in. Numbers do not guarantee income. The same holds true with traffic.

You have to build a responsive email list of people that want to hear from you and what you have to offer. You do that by having a strategic plan of action.

You have to know what kind of people you want to attract, what you want them to do, and how you’re going to go about that.

I know these things not because I’m a genius, but because I’ve made every mistake in the book. When I started, I had no idea how to communicate with my list.

I knew how to get people on my list, but I had no idea what to do from there.

It wasn’t fun, and in order to help you skip that grueling beginning phase, I’ve put together the email marketing 101 series below.
